We will also be hosting tours of the school from Tuesday 8th October until Thursday 17th October.  Please contact the school office to book a tour by calling 033 336 02120.

Pupil Premium

The pupil premium is additional funding given to publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers.

It is paid to schools according to the number of pupils who have been:

  • registered as eligible for free school meals at any point in the last 6 years
  • been in care for 6 months or longer

The Service pupil premium of £335 per pupil is designed to support children with parents serving in the regular British armed forces.

Pupils attract the premium if they meet the following criteria:

  • one of their parents is serving in the regular armed forces
  • one of their parents served in the regular armed forces in the last 3 years
  • one of their parents died while serving in the armed forces and the pupil is in receipt of a pension under the Armed Forces Compensation Scheme (AFCS) and the War Pensions Scheme (WPS)

Year 7 Literacy and Numeracy Premium

The literacy and numeracy catch-up premium gives schools additional funding to support year 7 pupils who did not achieve at least level 4 in reading and/or maths at the end of key stage 2 (KS2).

The Rochester Grammar School did not receive literacy and numeracy catch-up premium in 2022/23 and does not expect to receive any funding in the 2023/24 financial year.
