The students and staff of Rochester Grammar School are elated to have placed in the top 50 for The Sunday Times’ Parent Power League Table of the UK’s top schools for 2025. As a result of the school’s impressive performance in both GCSE and Sixth Form outcomes, the all-girls grammar school, part of The Thinking Schools Academy Trust, is proud to be the only secondary school from the Medway towns to be listed in the top 50 schools - a remarkable achievement that highlights the school’s commitment to excellence.
When asked about the achievement, Clare Brinklow, Principal of Rochester Grammar School, said: “I am incredibly proud that RGS has been ranked in the top 50 schools according to The Sunday Times League Tables published recently. This is an amazing accomplishment for the school and is reflective of the continued hard work of all our students and our dedicated staff.”
The school has also been ranked 35th for their Sixth Form outcomes, with Clare further adding, “Sixth Form teaching at RGS is designed to ensure academic excellence, offering rigorous courses that open doors to a wide range of future pathways. We empower our students to grow and thrive in their chosen fields.”
Rochester Grammar School is also committed to providing an enriching, well-rounded experience for all students. The school offers unique opportunities, including, international trips, and prestigious programmes such as the Duke of Edinburgh Award, ensuring that every student has the chance to excel both inside and outside the classroom.
These successes are a result of the school’s commitment to excellence in teaching and learning. As a Thinking School, they encourage a metacognitive approach to learning to empower their students to take ownership of their learning journey. This forward-thinking approach helps students develop the skills they need to become life-long learners.
Clare concludes: “I would like to express my thanks to all of our inspiring students who strive every day to achieve their aspirations and who have taken advantage of all the school can offer to help them succeed. I would also like to extend my gratitude to our exceptional teachers, supportive parents and our dedicated governors, whose ongoing support continues to make our school a place where every student can be their best selves.”
